Gosh, the drama! Emilia Pérez, right? Colombian actress, huge in Hollywood now. But, man, the controversy is crazy. It’s all over the news. Her new movie, also called “Emilia Pérez,” is amazing, Cannes Film Festival, May 2024. Directed by that guy, Jacques Audiard. But, then the backlash hit. Hard.

Her old tweets? Yikes. Insensitive, some say racist. People are furious. Seriously furious. The Oscar buzz? Gone. Poof! The film itself? Accused of perpetuating stereotypes. Awful. It’s a mess.
