Cecily Strong, that amazing American actress, comedian, and writer – she’s one of ’em! Seriously, with a career that’s been goin’ on for over a decade, Strong’s proven herself a total powerhouse in the entertainment biz. I mean, wow.
A Childhood of Creativity
Born on March 4th, 1985, in Boston, Massachusets, Strong grew up in a family of, like, super creative people. Her parents, both artists themselves, totally exposed her to the performing arts from a young age. It was awesome, that early exposure shaped her whole future, no doubt about it! Strong went to that fancy Boston University, where she studied theater and got a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2007. Go Cecily!
Breaking into the Industry
After college, Strong started doin’ stand-up and improv – in NYC and Boston. It was tough, I bet! Her big break? 2012, when she joined the cast of Saturday Night Live (SNL) as a featured player. Her impressions and sketches were instantly loved by everyone, and she became a regular cast member. I’m so happy for her!

Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in comedy?
A: I grew up with artists in my family, and I was always around the performing arts. It just kinda happened, I guess!
Q: What was your favorite experience on SNL?
A: OMG, so many great memories! But maybe that podcast sketch? It was just… perfect. Hilarious!
Q: What’s next for you?
A: I’m working on something new, but I can’t say yet! It’s gonna be awesome, though! Promise!
Q: How do you stay positive and motivated?
A: Just being true to myself, I think. And focusing on what makes me happy. It’s important!
Q: What advice would you give to aspiring comedians?
A: Keep working hard, don’t be scared to try new things, and be nice to people! Seriously!
